I enjoy offset zoom. If Strike zone and Zoom had a baby it would be offset zoom. I like seeing my players stances and I'm also close up to read pitches great.

I may have missed it in the stream, but will we be able to see them online?

I'm excited to build my DD team from the ground up, excited to see what different programs there are going to be and for what players as well.

Yea, I'm not a huge fan of BR, but I know there are some great rewards if you do well. So I'm gonna force myself to do some runs next year in hopes of going 12-0

I usually like to listen to random Howard stern clips on youtube while I'm grinding out programs.

Played my first online game and really did not enjoy the hitting. We went 12 innings before friendly quitting, with about 4 hits each in that time span. A couple things that made it maddening (besides the single PCI limiting your ability to see the ball):

    • Way too many squared up balls which with "Good" timing and "Good" outcomes according to the feedback resulted in routine fly outs.
    • About half the hits in our game were the results of "Late" swing jam shots falling in for bloops. Meanwhile, while I can't speak for my opponent, my hardest hit balls (as in, squared up well with good timing) yielded almost no results. I know part of baseball is that not every hard hit ball falls in for a hit, but the BABIP on good swings resulting in hard hit balls was unrealistically low.
    • Fielders' reflexes were insanely fast. I know fielding and hitting are technically separate subjects, but I think hitting would feel less frustrating if middle infielders weren't able to zip over to every hard hit ball in the hole, transfer to throwing in a nanosecond, and fire a laser to first every time. Outfielders also made some insane "routine" looking plays on balls rocketed into the gaps. Right now it feels like making good contact is not rewarded.

Swing Analysis: Seemed accurate enough; I honestly had trouble seeing the ball due to the PCI, so I'll trust that the feedback is accurate.
    Contact Grade: B+
    Timing Grade: B+
    PCI:
Hideous and unnecessarily obfuscating. What do the different thicknesses of the outline in different parts of the circle represent for different hitters? Maybe it has something to do with whether they generate topspin or lift, but its effect was to determine whether I couldn't see anything thrown up in the zone or anything thrown down in the zone.
Ball Physics: C. Again, maybe my beef is really with the way fielders react to well hit balls. But, balls hit squarely were easy outs over 90% of the time, and that's just not the way a fun baseball game should play. Maybe things were actually made more realistic in changes that were made, but I already know I can't hit off major league pitching in the real world, so if I do everything right in the digital one I'd like to see results from it.

Again, only 1 online game so far (+ one conquest game which felt 1000% different, playing on Veteran difficulty, where it was somehow easier to put up runs than in '17), but after it I really didn't want to play another. I know I'll get around to it eventually, but it's not a good sign when the game just ain't fun because hitting is nonexistant.

Yea, our game was a bunch of flyouts. I believe we both had maybe 2 warning track shots on good contact.

I'm noticing the jog to the ball in the outfield which can be very frustrating, especially in crucial moments.

I've also noticed alot less passed balls by the catcher, which is great. I don't feel nervous throwing a breaking ball low with a guy on base anymore.

yea, they need to 'juice' the balls a bit ;). Just a little!

You knew going in that there would be server issues. That's what part of this alpha is for, to test the server loads.

Power seems a little weak after 3 ranked seasons games. I hit a fastball with good timing and contact and didn't hit the warning track at Dodger stadium.
